School of Prayer Ministry - Carleton Place - May 4 - 6
Victorious Ministry Through Christ (VMTC) traces its roots back to a pivotal moment in the life of Anne S. White. A charismatic pioneer, Anne's own spiritual awakening fueled her evangelistic journeys. However, Anne sensed that something was missing. People prayed for healing, yet struggles often persisted. This yearning for deeper transformation became a driving force for Anne.
The turning point came in an unexpected way. Her young son battled severe asthma, defying medical solutions. In the quiet desperation of the night, Anne turned to prayer. A powerful encounter with God revealed a hidden key: unforgiveness. Confessing a long-held resentment against a family member, Anne experienced a profound shift. Miraculously, her son's condition improved instantly.
This transformative experience ignited a lifelong passion in Anne. She dedicated herself to understanding the power of forgiveness and its role in healing. Fueled by this newfound insight, Anne established VMTC in the late 1970s. Initially focused on equipping clergy prayer teams, the ministry soon expanded to train laypeople as well.
Anne's legacy extends beyond her lifetime. Several books chronicle her spiritual journey and lay the foundation for VMTC's core principles. These principles continue to guide the ministry's international reach, impacting lives through prayer ministry across various countries.
Anne S. White recognized a profound need within the clergy – a lack of confidential prayer support. This sparked the creation of VMTC, initially focusing on training ministers and their spouses as prayer ministers. Soon, the training expanded to laypeople, who now play a vital role in the ministry. Traditionally, leadership positions were held by clergy, but this is evolving as more and more laypeople step into these avenues.
The first VMTC training school took place in Florida in late 1970. The following year, VMTC Florida was formally established as an interdenominational charity with Anne leading the charge as president and a board of directors representing local churches. Since then, VMTC prayer ministry has blossomed internationally. Today, it actively serves individuals in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA, each with its own national board. The ministry is known as "Helhet gjennom Kristus" (Wholeness Through Christ) in Norway. While VMTC Pakistan was once active, it's currently experiencing a period of renewal. The story of VMTC Great Britain is different. Established in 1974, it no longer exists in its original form. However, its legacy lives on through its successors: Wholeness Through Christ UK and Christian Prayer Ministries UK (CPM). These ministries, along with VMTC, share core biblical principles. Currently, efforts are underway to strengthen collaboration between VMTC International and CPM, further uniting their mission of offering healing through prayer.
